my teacup collection is all smashed...

we thought our roof had been fixed. we paid a guy to do it.
but we just had a big downpour, and the water has leaked into our wall, softened the plaster, and the screws that were holding in the brackets that secured the teacups to the wall just fell out... and my beautiful, priceless collection is no more.
i am sitting here just crying and crying, and sajee is collecting the pieces and putting them in a box...

Will you keep the pieces? Are any mendable?

i can't think about fixing them now. it's too horrible. pieces that were priceless are now totally worthless. and you can't drink out of them when they're mended...

But fortunately neither one of you were standing under the shelves when they came down.

How awful.
I'm glad Sajee's collecting the pieces - you probably don't even want to think about it right now, but something beautiful might be able to be made from the devastation.

I want to say something comforting but I don't know what.

I just invented a smiley for "tear running down face" in your honour.
I hope you were insured.
Also, Sark is unimpressed. He will find that contractor and he will make him bleed. Lots. While an drinking expensive red.

I can't even imagine what you're feeling. I'm so, so sorry.

I am so sorry to know this has happened to you. Definately a situation worthy of many tears! *hugs SO tight*

This might be totally inappropriate, but I'll offer anyway: if you want me to find you a tea cup from somewhere in the Chicago area, I would do so and send you it. And maybe a few other friends could do that or something like that. And you'd have a jump start on reforming your collection. I don't know.
But that might be too much to think about right now. So let me just repeat: I'm so sorry!
