hello from the beautiful city of bath!
a quick catch up on the last couple of days - mostly in photo form (again) :)
we had a lovely last morning in stratford-upon-avon. we visited the beautiful churchyard of the holy trinity church

saj and giselle enjoying the tranquility of the church yard while looking out over the avon

this may or may not have been shakespeare's grave...
then it was time for a last stroll through the rsc gardens...

a farewell kiss for mr tennant...

and we drove to bath - we took a stroll around in the evening light and it was really beautiful

today we have been wandering happily around bath -

a dress in the jane austen museum

the magnificent 'royal crescent'

tea in the royal crescent hotel garden. v posh.

me, sitting on the lawn with my tea at the royal crescent hotel

the ancient roman bathsl, from which the city draws its name

having a quiet sit at the baths

sajee vlogging at the baths

ancient water and stone

inside bath abbey

sajee reading the memorials on the walls of bath abbey

lighting a candle at bath abbey

mourning woman in the abbey
i really love this city. it's so old and so majestic, and it's easy to imagine yourself right into a jane austen novel here. am very tired now, though, so i won't ramble any more. big kisses to you all xoxoxoxox

Date: 2008-09-23 08:54 am (UTC)Did you know I have performed at Bath Abbey? On a school music tour. It was beautiful. Before one rehearsal, I remember playing some of the Bach cello suits in one of the lower rooms and the sound just echoing through the space - it was incredible. It felt like playing the music in the place it was meant to be played in, ie. as Bach originally intended it. It was very memorable.
But the whole place is just gorgeous - as your photos show. It looks like you're having a wonderful time! :D
